MTCI offers a Basic EKG Technician Certification preparatory course. Upon completion of this course students will be eligible to sit for national examination for certification.
This 6-week course will prepare students for employment as a Basic EKG Technician whose responsibilities may include:

• Patient preparation for EKG
• Patient interaction
• Applying electrodes & leads to a patients
• Performing an EKG
• Perform Holter monitoring & Stress testing

EKG Technicians assist physicians in treatment of various cardiovascular problems. EKG Technicians have the education to provide electrocardiograms / EKG’s, ultrasounds and sonograms of a patient’s heart.
Acute care hospitals, clinics, physician offices, and other healthcare agencies are common places for an EKG Technician to gain employment.
